Meet Our Instructors

Kathy Wolper has always had a passion for sweets. She has about 30 years of experience teaching children and training adults. She is a PA certified elementary teacher and has a Certified Technical Trainer designation.  Kathy decided to combine her love of teaching with her love of baking and candy making and from that, the Kitchen Wizards brand of culinary enrichment programs were born.

Kathy is enthusiastic about cooking, baking, and candy making because she loves working in the kitchen. It gives Kathy a feeling of accomplishment when she produces something tasty, and as Kitchen Wizards, we hope to ignite that love of the culinary arts in our students. Kathy has taken candy making and baking classes at Main Line School Night and The Disney Institute, in order to hone the skills she learned from her mother while she was growing up. Kitchen Wizards hopes to be grooming future baking business owners, or at least people who can pass along these skills to their own children someday.

Wendi Pacinelli has been teaching for the past six years in both early childhood and elementary classrooms.  Currently she is an elementary school teacher in the Norristown Area School District.  Wendi graduated from Drexel University in 2002 with a B.S in psychology and earned a Master's of Education and PA certification from Cabrini College in 2009.   Wendi loves to cook in her free time and recreate special family recipes that have been passed down to her from her Mom and Grandmother.  She also likes to create new recipes in the kitchen and try them out on her husband. Wendi is very excited to be joining Kitchen Wizards and is looking forward to sharing her love of cooking with her campers.

Michela Bird Westover graduated from DeSales University in 2001 with a BA in Theatre.  Since then she has performed in shows all over the country.  For the past four years, Micki has been teaching drama to children ages 5-18 with Drama Kids International in Montgomery County.  Michela is excited to be joining the team of Kathy's Just Desserts/Kitchen Wizards and is looking forward to bringing her enthusiasm for cooking and teaching to students of all ages!
Mare has been working as a substitute teacher in Lower Merion, Upper Merion and Colonial School Districts. She received a B.S. in Elementary Education from West Chester University in 2010. In her spare time she loves to read. She is a big Harry Potter fan. Mare started cooking in college. Her family would say that the schedule of a teacher has benefitted them, because it has given Mare the free time to experiment in the kitchen. This inspired her to make cooking her new hobby. She loves to try new things with old family recipes for cooking and baking.
Shannon has worked in both the health and financial fields, but really has found her true passion to be baking and kids. As she parts from her financial background, she intends to fully pursue her dreams of working in the baking industry. She graduated from Saint Joseph's University in 2008 with a B.S. degree in Marketing. Shannon comes from a very crafty background. When she's not decorating cakes, she's quilting, crocheting, knitting, sewing, or finding some other craft to do! She is so excited to share her talents with young culinary wizards.
